The hardness of brucite is 2.5. It is a single crystal in the shape of a thick plate, commonly referred to as a flaky aggregate; sometimes a fibrous aggregate, called brucite (nemalite) or brucite asbestos. Brucite stones also often forms the false appearance of periclase.
Water content of brucite stones:
The moisture of superior products is less than 0.5%.
Moisture content of qualified product ≤ 1%

The index of water content is one of the important indicators in the testing index of flame retardant chemical brucite products, and the level of water content directly affects the application of downstream customer products. If the moisture content of the flame retardant chemical brucite stonesproduct is on the high side, adding it to the flame retardant product may affect the application performance of the product, and the application performance of the flame retardant product will be affected by foaming and steam overflow resulting in appearance or internal defects in the product processing.
Method for determination of water content of brucite:
Oven method: the sample is dried to a constant mass in an electrothermal constant temperature drying box of 105C + 2C, and the moisture content is determined according to the mass reduction before and after drying.
Rapid moisture meter determination method: put the brucite sample on the sample plate of the moisture tester, start heating, and get the test results in 3-5 minutes.
