TALC in ceramics industry
Magnesium Silicate is widely used in the ceramics industry in both bodies and glazes. It is increasingly being used in the manufacture of artwares, jars, wall and floor tiles. Talc for ceramics serves as a non-plastic ceramic material.The proportion of Talc for ceramics in the ceramic body may go upto 80%.
Talc for ceramics is highly white as well as bright and thus imparts appropriate visual properties to the ceramic product.
It has good refractoriness. Talcum Powder for Paint, Rubber and Ceramics converts into enstatite at 1300º C. Between 800ºC to 840ºC, the water molecules start being driven off and Talcum Powder for Paint, Rubber and Ceramics dissociates into enstatite and amorphous silica without undergoing any change in shape, the shrinkage being 0.0005 inch only.
In stonewares, small percentages of Talc for ceramics are used to flux the body and therefore improve strength and vitrification. Talc for ceramics is a source of MgO flux in high temperature glazes to control melting temperature. Talc for ceramics is also employed as a matting agent in earthenware glazes and can be used to produce magnesia mattes at high temperatures.
Talc Powder for Sanitaryware

Talc For Honeycomb ceramic
Talc For Honeycomb ceramic is a poor conductor of electricity and is thus used in the manufacture of ceramic goods required for the electrical industry. For this purpose Talc For Honeycomb ceramic must be high in purity. Iron oxide should not be more than 1% which would otherwise increase the dielectric constant of the product as well as impart an unattractive color to it.
